Justin and I officially announced Tuesday that we are having our second baby!
Last Wednesday evening I took a test, really thinking I was not pregnant, but actually wanting to get out of my mind the idea that I could be in order to move on and get my act together with some of the things I was neglecting that week. Well suprise surprise when I look down and see two lines on the test. I was floored. I couldn't believe it! I called Justin and asked him to come home from work for a few minutes so I could talk to him about something important. It was so special to be able to share with Justin the blessing that God had given to us and both of us be so over-joyed to tears with excitement. Praise the Lord!
Back when Kristin was around 3-6 months, I dont remember exactly when, I began to get "The Fever" really bad...yup, the baby fever. I was becoming discontent and really worried if Justin would ever be 'ready' for a second baby. One day I was fretting over it and I knew I needed to take it to the Lord, so I began to pray about it and the Lord spoke to me saying, "trust me with your family & the timing of your baby". Immediatley I was filled with that peace which surpasses all understanding and was able to take His word in faith and walk in it. It wasn't always easy, but I was constantly reminded of those words whenever I would begin to 'get the fever'. Because the Lord already knew the right and perfect time for our next baby and I needed to trust Him that He knows what He is doing. Over the past few months, probably around Christmas time, Justin began to share that he was beginning to desire having another baby. WOW! Was I floored by that!(Dont get me wrong, he loves children, he just didn't want more yet.) I hadn't even talked about it very much because I was trusting God! And wouldnt you know, he brought it up! Of course at this time it was just talking about it, and planning to see how it would work and what we could afford etc. Then in February Justin went to Africa for 2 weeks on a missions trip. While he was there he met a man who has seven children. The man asked Justin how many children he has and when Justin replied one, a little girl, the man suprisingly asked "why?" Justin proceeded to tell him that here in the states kids are very expensive, and the economy is not very strong, all the while realizing where he was standing and what he was saying wasn't as important anymore, due to seeing what was around him in Africa. The man proceeded to tell Justin to have more children now because his wife only has so much time to have children. That was what the Lord used in Justin's life to show him that it was His will & time for another baby. After he got home and shared with me what God had done I was amazed! God had brought both Justin and I to the place he wanted us. Submitting our lives to Him and trusting Him with our decisions.
In light of what other couples deal with Justin and I are truly blessed to have only tried for one month. God truly has a perfect plan. Seeking His face for His will for our life is so incredibly rewarding & brings so much joy and a closer realization of how incredible our God is, how gracious and loving, and caring and close He is to our desires and dreams & all along accomplishing His desires through us.
So again Tuesday night we shared with our families at Macaroni Grill the news. We had bought a Dodgers onsie wrapped it up and I gave it to Justin as a birthday gift (he turned 31 yesterday). I loved how the women immediatley got it, but we had to kinda spell it out for the Papa's in the family! ha ha...but it was so fun to share the news and enjoy celebrating this little life that God has given to us all.
More exciting news to come as we grow more in this pregancy. Our first Dr apt is coming up in April and we are Due Decemeber 1, 2009. Yay!
