Cousin Katie's Dedication...Well, the after party anyways...

We spent the night at Jason & Kelly's to go to their church's early service to watch Katie be dedicated. We found out when we arrived that their Pastor, Jack, was unable to do the dedication due to the fires and actually his home was evacuated earlier that morning.

We were sad we didnt see Katie dedicated but the rest of the day was a lot of fun. The message Jack taught was on "Saying Thank you" in Luke 17:11-19. It was very encouraging and a real reminder that Jesus truly gave us everything and how much I truly dont thank the Lord enough.

After church we went to Debbie & Ed's house (Jason's mom & step-dad)had wonderful, awesome burritos (great job Jason and Kelly!) and hung out watching the girls play in the yard and on the little slide they have. Kristin had so much fun running around with Keilah laughing and playing with toys she had never played with before like the big red and yellow car and learing to go up the latter and down the slide! We were so proud of her. (I know goofy parents).

We had a great time with the family and look foward to getting together on Christmas Eve!

Playing a Joke on Mommy & Daddy

I never stopped to think that our little 15 month old could play a joke on her mommy and daddy...but last night she did! I dont know if this is a good thing or not, but Kristin loves to be scared. Not horrifying scared but like sneak up behind you and say "Boo!" scared. She laughs and laughs. So Justin and I do that a lot to her. We will be washing dishes or cleaning up something and all of a sudden we jump and look at her and yell "Boo!" and she LOVES it! She cracks up every time and her eyes get huge, its adorable. Well last night while we were eating dinner, Kristin was really quiet and I didnt think much of it and all of sudden she jumps in her seat and yells "Boo!" at me and Justin! I could not stop laughing! It was the cutest thing I have seen her do yet and at the same time I was so amazed that she did that! I dont know why, I guess I just never expected my 15 month old to play a joke on her parents. But thats the best first joke ever!

Snow Day

...Well, not really a snow day, but a day that reminds me of it, lol. Our 2 youngest nieces were over at our house, Lauren (LaLa) and Katelyn (KK). Justin was working on stuff for the church and had to take a phone call. The girls were playing in Kristin's room and Kristin comes running out to see Daddy and he notices that she smells really good for some reason (not that she smells bad, but typically not this good : ) He heard some laughing in the back room and decides to go check out what they were up to. To his horror and surprise Kristin's room had turned into a winter wonderland, showered with baby powder. We dont use baby powder but I had 2 larger containers of it that I had placed in Kristin's room to figure out what to do with them...now we know. Lauren thought it would be hilarious to flig the baby powder all over the room. I have to say, the phone call I received from Justin was absolutely hilarious. I could not stop laughing and I couldnt wait to get home and see the damage. He did great and getting a ton of it cleaned up but the room is just dusted with it. Its going to take some major clean up to get it all out. Kris has been sleeping in our room the last couple nights because of it. We are able to laugh about it now but we were pretty upset because this is not the first offense of this little *almost 3 year old. : ) Last time she flung milk all over the walls of our hall way. LOL. I have to remember these stories to tell the girls when they are older, stuff like this is totally priceless.

Oh, and for our next baby (whenever that may be) please...no baby powder! : )

Family Fest 2008

This Halloween Kristin & I went up to Kelly's to attend their church's yearly Family Fest carnival. This was our first time going with Kelly and Keilah and it was a lot of fun. Kristin didnt do much, we rode the train with Keilah, which once we got going was pretty fun for her (but of course, just like disneyland she didnt show any emotion whatsoever : ). After that Kris rode in the ergo on my back. She loves watching people and I think it was especially cool because of all the costumes and huge astro-jumps. Keilah had a good time, she got her face painted, went down some slides, went jumping, and won some candy!

After we parked the car I was reapplying Kristin's wiskers and kitty nose with Kelly's eye liner; as I was doing that Kristin sat so still and I wispered to her "You are such a good girl" and she responded back with wispers in her own special language. I love this age because she is so observant and wants to copy people around her.

Uncle Doug's 18th Birthday & Old Poway Park

Saturday we celebrated Doug's 18th birthday with the family and some of his friends at Old Poway Park. It was a fun time, Keilah and Kristin running around everywhere, seeing how big Katie is getting, Doug smokin his first cigar (so weird!)
After eating we all went on the Old Poway train. We thought the girls would really enjoy that. Kristin of course didn't show any kind of reaction. Just her little serious face. but she seemed to have a good time. She loved the park. She loved running around in the grass, chasing her cousin and trying to keep up with her.
Kelly made an amazing cheese cake for Doug, we made him pretend the candles were lit (cause the wind kept blowing out) and we say Happy Birthday and he blew them out, lol. what a good sport! We hope you had a great birthday Doug! Cant believe your 18 already! We love you!
Here are some pictures for the day!
